The Grayling Society
Proper mention must be made of the
Grayling Society, since a group of members formed the Grayling Research Trust in 1994 to foster more scientific research. Until recently, the two organisations shared a close history. However, the Grayling Society (GS) and Grayling Research Trust (GRT) have now become more distinctly separate organisations. The GS has developed a more campaigning strategy, lobbying for improvements in water quality and funding practical conservation work on rivers. The GRT remains focussed on basic research into the biology and ecology of grayling and grayling habitat.
